Die Bilder der Spielplatzserie, die Christopher Krause in der Ausstellung zeigt, sind voller Widersprüche. Mit ihrer klaren und reduzierten Formensprache und den leuchtenden Farben wirken sie zunächst heiter und naiv. Jedoch untergräbt die Schärfe der formalen Setzungen in die plane und menschenleere Konstruktion des Bildraums untergräbt diesen Eindruck. Der Spielplatz ist hier Sehnsuchtsort, dem bereits der Stumpfsinn der Erwachsenenwelt eingeschrieben ist.
The pictures of the playground series, which Christopher Krause shows in the exhibition, are full of contradictions. With their clear and reduced formal language and bright colors, they initially appear cheerful and naive. However, the decidedly sharp formal structure and the flat and deserted construction of the pictorial space undermines this impression. The playground becomes a place of longing, with the dullness of the adult world is already inscribed into it.
